Events in the PIP:

"Closter Landing Loop"

There will be a history hike with Eric Nelsen on Saturday, June 3, meeting 10 AM at the Kearney House at the Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). This is an approx. 5 mi. hike in 4 hrs. over moderate trails with some slopes. This is a free program, open to all, with no advance registration required; a $5 parking fee is charged at the Alpine Area. The hike will be held "drizzle or shine" - for more information, or to call on the morning of the hike to confirm should weather conditions seem questionable: 201 768-1360 ext. 208.

"Music on the Rocks"

There will be an outdoor concert with the Broadway Brass Quintet (BBQ) on Sunday, June 4, from 11 AM - 12 noon on the Giant Stairs beneath State Line Lookout. The concert can be heard from the Lookout Area, or hikers can go to the site of the performance itself (State Line Lookout is off northbound PIP opposite Exit 3 in Alpine; the Giant Stairs are accessible by challenging trail only, please follow the link, below, for more information). This is a free program, open to all, with no advance registration required; inclement weather will cancel.
