"Cape Fly Away"
There will be a history hike with Eric Nelsen on Saturday, February 4, meeting at 11 AM at Park Headquarters in Alpine (PIP Exit 2). This is an approx. 3-mi. hike over moderate trails with some challenging slopes in about 2 hrs. This is a free program, open to all with no pre-registration required. Inclement weather or icy trail conditions may cancel; if conditions seem questionable on the morning of the hike, hikers can call 201 768-1360 and enter ext. 208 to confirm. There will be a birding workshop with Linn Pierson on Sunday, February 26, from 2 - 4 PM at Park Headquarters (PIP Exit 2 in Alpine). The workshop will include both indoor and outdoor instruction; participants should bring binoculars if possible.
