"Birding for Beginners"
There will be a birding workshop with Linn Pierson on Sunday, January 8, from 2 - 4 PM at Park Headquarters (PIP Exit 2 in Alpine). The workshop will include both indoor and outdoor instruction; participants should bring binoculars if possible. This is a free program, open to all, but pre-registration is required: 201 768-0379; lpierson@njpalisades.org.
"Mid-Winter Eagle Census"
There will be an eagle census count in the Park for the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife with Linn Pierson on Sunday, January 15. Participants should be prepared to spend extended time outdoors. Details will be provided upon registration: 201 768-0379; lpierson@njpalisades.org.
"Winter Tree Identification"
There will be a nature workshop with Nancy Slowik on Sunday, January 22, from 1 - 3 PM at Greenbrook Sanctuary (U.S. Route 9W in Tenafly). The workshop will include a short hike over relatively easy trails. Space is limited, and there is a $5 per participant fee (program is free to members of nature centers participating in the Nature Program Cooperative - for details: http://www.tenaflynaturecenter.org/publicprograms.html#NPC).
